Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited, together with the IVL Foundation, organized a Waste Segregation and Sustainable Plastic Management program in Hua Hin to promote environmental awareness and sustainable waste management practices. The event was officially opened by Mr. Nopporn Wuttikul, Mayor of Hua Hin, and brought together public health and environmental officers from Hua Hin Municipality, along with teachers from Wat Nong Kae Municipal School and Khao Phithak Municipal School.
The morning session featured a Train-the-Trainer workshop aimed at equipping teachers with practical knowledge on waste segregation, responsible plastic management, and circular economy principles. By empowering teachers as key multipliers of knowledge, the program enables them to transfer what they have learned to fellow educators, students, and local communities, creating a lasting impact beyond the classroom and fostering sustainable waste management practices in everyday life.
The initiative also promotes collaboration between schools and Hua Hin Municipality to reduce landfill waste, increase the collection of recyclable materials, and establish participatory waste management models that can be replicated across other schools and communities.
In the afternoon, students from Wat Nong Kae Municipal School participated in an Active Learning session, engaging in hands-on activities and educational games designed to build practical understanding of waste segregation and recycling. The interactive approach encouraged students to actively participate, apply their knowledge, and develop environmental awareness from an early age.
The program reflects the commitment of Indorama Ventures and the IVL Foundation to creating long-term positive impact by empowering teachers as community leaders, inspiring young people to adopt sustainable behaviors, and advancing the transition toward a more circular and resource-efficient future.
